Hey everyone! In this wire work video tutorial, I’m excited to guide you through the process of creating some hoop earrings using a hammering technique. We’ll also explore two unique wire stone setting techniques that, while similar, are applied differently to achieve distinct results.

What you will need to make this design:

Wire:

  • 1 m x 1.6 mm (14 ga) wire
  • 1 m x 1.3 mm (16 ga) wire
  • 1 m x 0.8 mm (20 ga) half round wire
  • 1 m x 0.8 mm (20 ga) square wire

Gemstones & beads:

  • 2 x 10 mm pear shaped cabochon
  • 2 x 8 mm round cut stone or cz
  • 2 x 6 mm round cut stone or cz
  • 2 x 5 mm round cut stone or cz 
  • 2 x 4 mm round cut stone or cz
  • 2 x 3 mm round cut stone or cz 

      Tools required:

      • Fine tipped flush cutters
      • Heavy duty flush cutters
      • Chain nose pliers
      • Round nose pliers
      • Steel block
      • Domed chasing hammer
      • Polishing materials
