'Beira' wire weaving pendant video

 

Hey everyone! In this wire work tutorial, learn how to create a wire woven pendant featuring a beautiful gemstone fringe. We’ll start by building the base wire frame before creating a simple bail. I’ll demonstrate how to use square wire for intricate swirls and details. Finally, I’ll show you how to set a gemstone drop and add an eye-catching fringe of gemstone nuggets.

What you will need to make this design:

  • Link to a digital pdf file for the tutorial
  • Materials list
  • Tools list
  • A guide to various weaving techniques

Wire:

  • 2 m of 0.4 mm (26 ga) round wire
  • 1 m of 0.6 mm (22 ga) half round wire
  • 2 m of 0.8 mm (16 ga) square wire

Gemstones & findings:

  • Lot of gemstone nuggets (they are not rondelles, please check the picture to see what they look like)
  • 1 x 8 - 10 mm drop bead

Tools you will need:

  • Heavy duty cutters
  • Chain nose pliers
  • Flat nose pliers
  • Round nose pliers
  • Bent nose pliers (optional)
  • Bail making pliers (optional)
  • Polishing materials
