'Layered red jasper' pendant tutorial video

In this tutorial, I will guide you through the process of creating a wire pendant featuring layered weaves. We will start by creating a frame and then seating the focal stone within it. Next, I’ll walk you through the steps to create and shape the intricate weaves that will enhance your pendant’s design. Finally, I’ll show you how to make a prong setting for the accent stone, bringing everything together to finish off your the pendant.

What you will need to make this design:

Wire:

  • 1 m of 1.6 mm round wire
  • 5 m of 0.4 mm round wire
  • 3 m of 0.6 mm round wire
  • 3 m of 0.8 mm round wire
  • 2 m of 0.6 mm half round wire

Beads and gemstones:

  • Oval cabochon
  • Gemstone drop
  • 1 x 4 mm round gemstone bead
  • 4 x 2 mm copper beads 
  • 6 x 3 mm copper beads 
  • 6 x 4 mm copper beads
  • 1 x 5 mm copper bead

Tools required: 

  • Chain-nose pliers
  • Flat-nose pliers
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Round-nose pliers
  • Flush cutters
  • Polishing materials to finish your piece
