Reflection' wire weaving pendant video tutorial

 

Hey everyone! In this wire work tutorial, I will show you how to create a negative space pendant featuring a uranium glass bead focal. We’ll cover how to create the frame using wire techniques, make a woven bail, and design a unique bead cage for undrilled stone or glass spheres. For those that prefer to use drilled stones I’ll provide an option for using beads as well.

What you will need to make this design:

Wire:

  • 1 m of 0.8 mm (20ga) round wire
  • 1 m of 1 mm wire (18 ga) round wire
  • 5 m of 0.4 mm (26 ga) round wire
  • 1 m of 1 mm (18 ga) square wire

Gemstones & beads:

  • 1 x 10 mm sphere or drilled bead (choose from drop-down)
  • 1 x 6 mm facet cut gemstone
  • 4 x 2 mm copper beads
  • 4 x 3 mm copper beads
  • 3 x 4 mm copper beads
  • 2 x 5 mm copper beads

Tools required:

  • Flush cutters
  • Heavy duty flush cutters
  • Chain nose pliers
  • Round nose pliers
  • Hammer and steel block
  • Polishing materials to finish your piece
