Viking twist wire bangle video tutorial

 

In this tutorial I want to show you how to make a twisted pattern to create various types of jewellery with a forming block, soldering and forming tools. The tutorial is for the rings but the pattern works the same for the bangle, Hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think in the comments!!

What you will need to make this design:

Wire:

  • 1mm (18 ga) wire

Tools required:

  • Heavy duty flush cutters
  • Rawhide/nylon mallet
  • Heavy iron mallet 
  • Heavy duty torch
  • Solder & flux
  • Solder pick and tweezers 
  • Salt & vinegar 
  • Forming/grooving block triangular
  • Jeweller's file 
  • Sand paper 800 - 2000 grit
  • Ring/bracelet mandrel 
  • Polishing materials to finish your piece
