In this tutorial, I will guide you through the process of creating a wire wrap for a shark tooth fossil. I will demonstrate different weaving techniques, explain how to attach the frame to your fossil, show you how to create a bail, and detail how to complete your design.

What you will need: (materials not included)

Wire:

  • 3 m of 0.3 mm (28 ga) dead soft copper wire
  • 2 m of 0.8 mm (20 ga) dead soft copper wire
  • 1 m of 1.3 mm (16 ga) half round, dead soft copper wire

Gemstones:
1 x ~2.5 cm to 3 cm Otodus obliquus shark tooth (this is a genuine fossil shark tooth between 45 & 55 million years old!!)

  • 1 x 8 mm to 10 mm oval gemstone (currently amethyst but I will have more variety soon)
  • 1 x 4 mm copper bead

Tools you will need (not included):

  •  Flush cutters
  • Round nose pliers
